Pablo García

Pablo García
President

PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1999). Commercial Engineer and Master in Economics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (1993). He served as Board Member and Vice President of the Central Bank of Chile between 2014 and 2024, having previously held the positions of Head of the Research Division and Chief Economist, Head of the Financial Policy Division, Head of Macroeconomic Analysis, and Head of Financial Stability.

Between 2010 and 2014, he served as Alternate Executive Director for the Southern Cone constituency at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where he also chaired the Board’s Ethics Committee. He also chaired the Irving Fisher Committee on Central Bank Statistics of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and led the external evaluation panel of the IMF’s Independent Evaluation Office.

He is currently a professor at the Business School of Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. He joined the Board of the National Commission for Evaluation and Productivity in 2025.
