Use of artificial intelligence for the characterization of the environmental regulatory burden of projects in development

The study “Use of Artificial Intelligence for Characterizing the Environmental Regulatory Burden of Projects under Development” shows, based on generative AI analysis of more than 1,300 Environmental Qualification Resolutions and 220,000 obligations, that over the past decade the environmental regulatory burden in Chile has tripled, increasing from 90 to 250 obligations per project on average, with particularly sharp growth in mining and in smaller-scale projects.
